Yingying Guo is a Ph.D. candidate in Finance with a minor in Economics at Louisiana
State University, where she is advised by Dr. R. Kelley Pace.
Ms. Guo’s academic journey began at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology,
where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering
with Highest Honors in 2015. She subsequently pursued graduate studies at Louisiana
State University, earning three master’s degrees: an M.S. in Petroleum Engineering
(2020), advised by Dr. Andrew Wojtanowicz; a Master of Applied Statistics (2020),
advised by Dr. Brian D. Marx; and an M.S. in Finance (2021).
With an interdisciplinary background that bridges engineering, statistics, and finance,
Guo brings a unique perspective to quantitative research. She has authored 13 peer-reviewed
publications—8 of which are in Q1 journals (SJR ranking)—spanning topics in engineering,
statistics, and finance. In addition, she is a co-inventor on two patents related
to high-pressure, high-temperature testing technologies designed for geotechnical
and cement-based systems.
In addition to research, she has independently taught 2 undergraduate finance courses
and served as a teaching assistant for eight courses across finance, statistics, and
engineering.
Outside of academia, Guo enjoys baking, pencil drawing, photography, roller skating,
building Lego models, observing animals, and making new friends.
